What We Believe

Marvelous Light Church Beliefs And Core Values

Core values of Marvelous Light Church

Jesus Is Lord

Everything we believe begins with one unchanging truth: Jesus Christ is Lord. We believe in one true God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct persons, united in one divine essence. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became flesh and dwelt among us. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He accomplished our salvation and now reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. All authority belongs to Him, and He is the foundation of everything we teach, believe, and do.

Grace: The Foundation of Our Identity

We believe God's grace is more than His unmerited favor—it is His divine influence and empowerment at work in our lives. Through Christ's finished work, God has already provided everything we need for life and godliness. Grace is the foundation of our identity, making us new creations who are fully righteous, accepted, and complete in Christ. Rather than being defined by our past or our failures, we live from the truth of who God says we are as His sons and daughters (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:20, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 2:11).

Faith: Receiving from God's Grace

While grace has already provided everything we need—salvation, healing, provision, and more—faith is the means by which we access what grace has already made available. Faith is not something we grow in but something we learn to use because we already have the faith of Christ within us. Faith is the key to receiving the fullness of what Christ has already provided for us (Romans 5:2, Galatians 2:20, Hebrews 11:1, 2 Corinthians 5:7).

Identity in Christ: Living from Who God Says You Are

We believe that through Jesus Christ every believer has been made a new creation, fully righteous, accepted, and complete in Him. Lasting transformation begins by believing what God says about us rather than defining ourselves by our past, our failures, or our feelings. We seek to help every believer live from their identity as a son or daughter of God, walking in the authority and freedom Christ has already provided (2 Corinthians 5:17, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 8:14-17, Galationas 2:20, Ephesians 1:3-8, Colossians 2:

Community: Growing Together in Grace and Faith

The early church was a community of believers who supported and encouraged one another in their faith. As a small group, we are called to create a loving and supportive environment where people can grow spiritually and experience the power of God’s love (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Romans 12:5).

Empowering Through Healing and Restoration

Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted, restore the sick, and set the captives free. We believe that healing is part of the salvation package, and it is God's will for His people to walk in wholeness. As believers, we also have been given authority in Christ to overcome the works of the enemy, including sickness, lack, and oppression. This authority empowers us to stand firm against the forces of darkness and claim victory in every area of our lives (Isaiah 61:1, Luke 10:19, James 5:14-15, 1 Peter 2:24).

Faithful Stewardship: Honoring God in Every Season

We believe God calls us to faithfully steward every opportunity, responsibility, and resource He entrusts to us. Rather than measuring success by numbers, we measure it by faithfulness to His calling. As we remain rooted in God's Word and dependent on His Spirit, He strengthens His people, deepens our faith, and accomplishes His purposes through His Church.(Zechariah 4:10, Luke 16:10,

Colossians 3:23-24, 1 Corinthians 4:2).

Shining as Marvelous Light in Our Community

Jesus calls us to be the light of the world, and we are specifically called to shine as a "marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9). Matthew 5:14-16 reminds us that a city on a hill cannot be hidden, and neither should our light. Our mission is to impact Jacksonville by sharing the love of Christ, meeting needs, and demonstrating God’s power through healing, provision, and acts of kindness (1 Peter 2:9, Matthew 5:14-16, Philippians 2:15).

Equipping Believers:

Growing in Purpose

Every believer is called and equipped to fulfill their purpose in Christ. We believe in the vital role of the Holy Spirit in empowering believers for victorious living, guiding them into all truth, and equipping them for service through the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12). The Holy Spirit enables us to live godly lives and manifests His power through the gifts He gives to each believer for the benefit of the body of Christ and the world (Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, Romans 8:11, John 14:26).

Kingdom Impact: Reaching Beyond Our Walls

Jesus commissioned His Church to make disciples of all nations. We are committed to bringing the marvelous light of Jesus to our community by sharing the gospel, serving others with compassion, and demonstrating God's love in both word and action. As God opens doors, we desire to extend His influence beyond Jacksonville and partner in advancing His Kingdom wherever He leads (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Isaiah 54:2-3, 1 Peter 2:9).
