Gospel Sharing Methods

How to Share the Gospel: 6 Simple and Proven Methods

1. The Three Circles Method

This method presents the Gospel through a simple visual that helps people understand God's design, human brokenness, and Christ's redemption.

Diagram of the 3 Circle Evangelism method showing God’s Design, Brokenness, and the Gospel. Arrows indicate the journey from God’s perfect design to human brokenness through sin, then to the Gospel through repentance and belief, and finally restoration through Christ. Includes supporting scriptures such as Romans 3:23, John 3:16, and Ephesians 1:13.

Step 1: God’s DesignGod created the world perfectly. Everything was in harmony—relationships, purpose, creation.👉 Genesis 1:31 – “And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good.”

Step 2: BrokennessSin entered the world and broke that perfect design. We try to fix our brokenness on our own, but nothing works. 👉 Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Step 3: The Gospel Jesus came to rescue us. He died for our sins and rose again, offering forgiveness and new life. 👉 Romans 5:8 – “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Step 4: Response If we repent (turn from sin) and believe in Jesus, we can recover God’s design. 👉 Romans 10:9 – “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

2. Romans Road

The Romans Road is a clear, step-by-step way to present the Gospel using verses entirely from the Book of Romans. It’s a great tool for walking someone through why they need salvation and how to receive it.

Includes Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9, and 10:13, with visual icons like warning signs, a traffic light, and road symbols representing each step toward salvation through Jesus Christ.

Step 1: Everyone has sinned. 👉 Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Step 2: The penalty of sin is death. 👉 Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Step 3: God demonstrated His love through Christ’s sacrifice. 👉 Romans 5:8 – “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Step 4: We are saved by confessing and believing. 👉 Romans 10:9 – “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” 👉 Romans 10:13 – “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

3. The Bridge Illustration

This classic method illustrates how Jesus bridges the gap between sinful humanity and a holy God.

Visual diagram of the Bridge Illustration for sharing the Gospel. It shows 'Man’s Problem'—sin, death, and judgment—on one side, and 'God’s Plan'—love, abundant life, and eternal life—on the other, with a cross labeled 'Jesus' bridging the gap. Scripture references include Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:16, and Isaiah 59:2. The illustration emphasizes that faith in Jesus is the only way to cross from death to life.

Visual: Two cliffs—one labeled “God,” the other “Humanity”—separated by a deep chasm called “Sin.” The cross of Jesus bridges the gap.

Key Verse: 👉 Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Steps:

  • God is holy and man is sinful.

  • Our sin separates us from God.

  • No amount of good works can bridge the gap.

  • Jesus’ death on the cross creates a bridge.

  • We must walk across by faith—accepting what He’s done.

4. The Four Spiritual Laws

Originally created by Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), this method presents four foundational truths in a logical order:

God Loves You (heart icon).

We are sinful and separated from God (sad face, division line, Jesus face icon).

Only through Jesus Christ can you know and experience God’s love and salvation (cross icon).

We must receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Jesus face icon).

  1. God Loves You and Has a Plan for Your Life 👉 John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son…”

  2. Sin Separates Us from God 👉 Romans 3:23 – “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

  3. Jesus Is God’s Only Provision for Sin 👉 John 14:6 – “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

  4. We Must Personally Receive Jesus as Lord and Savior 👉 John 1:12 – “But to all who did receive Him…He gave the right to become children of God.”

Each truth builds on the last, helping people grasp the full picture of salvation.

5. The Way of the Master

Popularized by Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron, this method helps people see their need for salvation by highlighting sin first.

The left side features a circular emblem with a gold cross and the letters W, D, J, D, referencing 'What Did Jesus Do' and Mark 16:15. The right side displays the text 'The Way of the Master' in bold fonts over a textured brown background.

Step 1: Use the Law (10 Commandments)Ask, “Have you ever lied? Stolen? Used God’s name in vain?”👉 Romans 3:19 – “…every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.”

Step 2: Explain God’s JusticeSin must be judged. A good judge doesn’t let the guilty go free.

Step 3: Share the Good NewsGod, in His mercy, sent Jesus to pay your fine. If you repent and trust Him, your sins are forgiven.

👉 Galatians 3:24 – “So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came…”

This method brings conviction and sets up the Gospel as both just and merciful.

6. Creation – Fall – Redemption – Restoration

This method is great for people unfamiliar with the Bible’s big picture. It frames the Gospel as a story:

Chalkboard-style illustration showing four stages of the biblical story: Creation (a bright Earth with sun), Fall (dark clouds and lightning over the Earth), Redemption (a wooden cross with a crown of thorns), and Restoration (the Earth with a golden crown and light rays). Each stage is labeled and separated by white lines.

Creation – God made everything good. 👉 Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

Fall – Sin broke the world and our relationship with God. 👉 Romans 5:12 – “Sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin…”

Redemption – Jesus came to rescue us through His life, death, and resurrection. 👉 Ephesians 1:7 – “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins…”

Restoration – One day, God will make all things new. 👉 Revelation 21:5 – “Behold, I am making all things new.”

This is especially helpful for longer conversations or small groups.

Tip for All Methods:Let the Holy Spirit lead you in choosing which tool to use. Ask questions, listen with love, and follow His prompting. You’re not trying to “win a debate”—you’re inviting someone to meet Jesus.

🔹 Practice Exercises for Sharing the Gospel

🟩 1. The Three Circles

Exercise: Drawing Practice + Roleplay

Instructions:

  1. Draw the Three Circles diagram from memory.

  2. Label each part: God’s Design → Brokenness → Jesus → Recovery & Pursuit.

  3. Roleplay with a partner:

    • Partner A plays someone who feels “stuck in brokenness.”

    • Partner B explains the Gospel using the Three Circles, focusing on how Jesus restores us.

Challenge Question for Roleplay: “What if I don’t feel like I need God—I’m doing fine?”

🟨 2. The Bridge Illustration

Exercise: Visual Explanation + Scripture Connection

Instructions:

  1. Draw two cliffs: one side labeled “God” and the other “Man.” Label the gap between as “Sin.”

  2. Draw a cross spanning the gap and write Romans 6:23 across it.

  3. Explain to a partner:

    • What separates us from God?

🟥 5. The Way of the Master

Exercise: Ten Commandments Diagnostic + Gospel Pivot

Instructions:

  1. Ask a partner: “Have you ever told a lie? Stolen something? Used God’s name carelessly?”
